Top 23 Jim Carrey Movies: #22

I must preface this entry of my Top 23 Jim Carrey movies with the fact that I was initially going to put The Majestic at #22. I had last seen that movie when I was 18 years old. I had gotten it for Christmas that year. I had never seen it prior, I watched it once and decided I didn’t care for it. I honestly don’t think I paid that much attention during the one screening, but nevertheless I was going to rank it second to last.

I figured if I was going to write about it I should give it another look and holy shit am I glad I did. Not only did it leave me scrambling to fill the #22 slot, it made me downright disappointed in myself that I waited so long to watch this absolute gem of a movie again. It’s criminally underrated and you won’t be seeing it for awhile on this list.

That being said, I still need to name Jim Carrey’s twenty second best movie. As I stated in the #23 ranking, Jim Carrey’s 23rd best movie is still better than most actors #1 best movie. That still rings true here.

So without further ado, #22 on the top 23 Jim Carrey movies list goes to…

Anchorman 2

Anchorman 2

I’ll keep this short and sweet, much like Jim’s screen time in the aforementioned film. Jim was only in the movie for but a minute or two and in my opinion, he steals the show in the time he’s on screen.

Personally, I’ve never been that big of a Will Ferrell fan. In recent years I have begun to warm up to him. Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and Daddy’s Home are a couple of his works I do like. What I’m getting at is, I’m not a fan of Anchorman 2, I felt like it tried too hard and that Jim Carrey was the best part of that movie. And that’s all I really have to say about that.
