It’s been awhile since I last wrote anything, chalk it up to writers block, a shitty computer, and being burnt out in general. The good news is one of those excuses has changed. The other two should hopefully work themselves out. But enough dwelling, let’s take a look at WWE Extreme Rules 2022.
There have been QR codes leading to cryptic messages which many are guessing is going to lead to the return of “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. That’s a definite possibility, and all signs are pointing in that direction but is it too easy? I think there’s a swerve in the works but either way it’s making for some compelling television and either way I’ll probably enjoy the ride.
Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match
The Brawling Brutes vs Imperium
It outta be quite the slobberknocker as they say, I don’t remember if this is the first ever Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match or not. I’m curious to see just what that is, hopefully it’s more than just a no disqualification match with a different name. With Sheamus going 0 – 2 against Gunther I’m led to believe The Brawling Brutes will get a win.

Strap Match
Karrion Kross vs Drew McIntyre
Karrion Kross has gotten a reboot of sorts and Drew is coming off a loss to the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle. Both guys need a win to keep their momentum going…that or a barn burner of a match where it’s so great that it doesn’t matter who wins or loses.
This lends itself well for the Fiend to return, beat down both guys, and cause a no contest. That or the lights go out and come back on only for both guys to be gone with the Fiend standing in the middle of the ring…just a thought.
I don’t have a strong prediction one way or another so I’m going with Karrion Kross.

I Quit Match
Finn Balor vs Edge
My prediction is Beth Phoenix will play a role in the finish, either by The Judgement Day threatening to harm her or by her throwing in the towel on behalf of Edge. The seeds were planted this past Monday on Raw when Edge Brought up his family. Given the talent in the ring it should be quite a show. Balor going over would be the right choice, much love for Edge, but if I remember correctly he’s going to be done in less than a year.
It being an I Quit match with the possibility of a convoluted ending involving Beth Phoenix and The Judgment Day makes for an easy out. Now that I’m thinking about it this match would make for an awesome moment for the Fiend to return as well. He costs Edge the match and they go on to feud throughout the next couple months…good stuff right there, it almost writes itself and I’m sure Edge would want to work with Bray Wyatt should he be the one returning.

Fight Pit Match
Special Guest Referee: Daniel Cormier
Riddle vs Seth Rollins
Yet another match that I can see the Fiend making a return in, except in this scenario when the lights go out and come back on Daniel Cormier has disappeared and The Fiend is the special guest referee. Would be kinda neat. Should be the end of this feud so Riddle wins.
Prediction: Riddle
SmackDown Women’s Championship
Extreme Rules Match
Ronda Rousey vs Liv Morgan
This is the only match that I can’t see The Fiend possibly interfering in. It could however be a good time for Charlotte Flair to return and cost Ronda Rousey the title. I don’t see Ronda winning, somehow Morgan will find a way to eke out a win.

Raw Women’s Championship
Ladder Match
Bayley vs Bianca Belair
Now I know what you’re thinking, “but Joe, how could The Fiend interfere in this match?” That’s easy, the return of evil Alexa Bliss could turn on Bianca and cost her the title. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? I don’t think so. I wouldn’t mind either lady winning either but I’ll say Bayley wins just to keep the feud fresh.
Prediction: Bayley
