WWE Money in the Bank 2022 Predictions

Happy 4th of July weekend. I attempted to do a video for this round of predictions but yeah, my computer is on its last legs. That doesn’t mean ya’ll have to throw computers at me, I’ll figure something out, in the mean time blogging it is.

Just to reiterate, the last show was WWE Hell in a Cell and I came in at 6 – 1 for predictions which isn’t too shabby. If you don’t know, I stopped doing the 50/50 Booking thing when I started the whole Rebrand, Reboot, Refocus thing.

The only match I got wrong was Cody Rhodes vs Seth “Freakin” Rollins. I figured they’d give Seth the win since Cody was going to be out for awhile but they went the opposite direction having Cody sweeping Seth 3 – 0 for their series, making Cody look like an absolute beast fighting through a painful injury and putting him over big time. When he returns, he’s going to be in line for a title shot real quick.

Enough about Hell in a Cell though, let’s talk Money in the Bank. This year’s card looks pretty decent. Unlike last year, I don’t have a good idea about who’s going to win either Money in the Bank ladder matches. However, I do have some good ideas about what some of the participants could do with the briefcase should they win it. Let’s take a look shall we?

Bobby Lashley vs Theory

Theory is on a collision course with John Cena heading towards SummerSlam and I’m all for it. Whether or not Theory wins at SummerSlam is a story for the SummerSlam predictions in a couple weeks.

That being said, I have a…theory as to how Theory will be walking into SummerSlam and that Theory includes him losing the United States Championship to “The Almighty” Bobby Lashley. Something I’m not upset about because, for whatever reason, Bobby Lashley is like The Miz, Sheamus, and Kofi Kingston in the sense that anytime they can add to their championship collection, I’m about it.

Theory losing the title to Lashley will just be the beginning of his night, but I’ll get more into that below.

PREDICTION: BOBBY LASHLEY

The Street Profits vs The Usos

The Usos are just a couple weeks away from the one year mark as SmackDown Tag Team Champions and like Roman Reigns, I don’t see them dropping their titles anytime soon. This feud hasn’t really gone to the next level, but they’ll probably have a banger of a match regardless. Look for this match to open the show on a high note.

PREDICTION: THE USOS

Natalya vs Ronda Rousey

Seriously, does anyone really think Natalya has a shot at winning this? Didn’t think so.

PREDICTION: RONDA ROUSEY

Carmella vs Bianca Belair

I suspect that one of two things are going to happen. One, Bayley will return in the same fashion that Becky Lynch did last year at SummerSlam, taking Carmella’s spot in the match and winning the title from an unprepared Bianca Belair. Or two, Becky Lynch will win the MITB briefcase and try to pull off a repeat of last year at SummerSlam herself.

I hope either of those scenarios happen because If Carmella remains the challenger, it’s a bit of a dud for me and it’ll mean a for sure win for Bianca, which is boring. If Bayley returns I think she wins. If Becky cashes in, Bianca retains. I’m rolling the dice on this one and saying Bayley returns and wins the Raw Women’s Championship.

PREDICTION: BAYLEY

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

I really only see either Evans, Morgan, or Lynch winning this and frankly it could be any of the three, it’s unpredictable so I like it. Even if Becky doesn’t try what I said in the previous match, I think we’re still in for Lynch to have a run as Ms. Money in the Bank.

PREDICTION: BECKY LYNCH

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

As for the men, I think Rollins, McIntyre, Riddle, or Zayn have a good chance of winning.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Seth “Freakin” Rollins winning and cashing in at SummerSlam. Seeing as its Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing Match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, it would be a callback to WrestleMania 31 when he cashed in during the Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns main event.

The difference would be he’d wait until they both knocked each other out, and when I say knock each other out, I mean something brutal where they’re not getting up for a long, long, long time. Something that would require both guys being stretched out. Seth would run down, cash in, making it a triple threat last man standing match, the referee counts to ten, and Rollins wins one of the titles (probably the WWE Title) without having to do anything.

I can see McIntyre winning and announcing his cash in beforehand for Clash at the Castle which he would lose. Riddle would hold it for awhile, pick the perfect spot, but have his cash in thwarted by Randy Orton leading to a match at WrestleMania 39. And Sami Zayn would be the first person to let the contract expire which could be interesting and suspenseful if done right. I could see him pondering cashing in on Roman but not going through with it. It could make for some funny spots as well.

All of those are viable options, but I think Theory will win. I know what you’re thinking, “But Joe, Theory’s not even in the match, how can he win if he’s not in the match?” I’ll feed ya baby birds. Seeing as Theory lost the US Title earlier in the night, he calls Vince McMahon and asks him to add him to the match. Vince adds him and Theory wins.

This way Theory still looks good but now he’s holding the MITB briefcase, something that isn’t typically put on the line in matches, as opposed to the United States Championship. Now Theory can face and potentially lose to John Cena at SummerSlam seeing as he doesn’t have to put the briefcase on the line and the MITB winner typically goes on a losing streak after winning the briefcase anyways. Trading in the US Title for the MITB briefcase would be the best play in my opinion.

PREDICTION: THEORY

I rolled the dice on a couple of these predictions but I feel strongly that these swerves will take place. Let me know if you agree, disagree, or if you just liked the thought process behind some of my predictions. That’s all I got for now, until next time, stay safe and celebrate responsibly this 4th of July weekend.
