So last night I had the privilege of watching my first live AEW Pay-Per-View and I’ve gotta say it was a great show and there wasn’t one bad match on the card. I explained in the predictions how I’ve been riding a wave of motivation since seeing Clerks 3 a couple months ago and how MJF picked up where that movie left off. Not making sense? Let me explain.
Clerks 3, if you didn’t know, is the latest creation from the mind of Kevin Smith (one of, if not, my favorite directors). What I took away from that movie was “don’t wait too long to follow your dreams because you never know when your time is going to be up.” That got me thinking about what I’m doing with my life, working dead end job after dead end job (apart from my current job).
Basically it feels like I’ve been asleep for the past 16 years and I’m just coming out of my daze. I’m 34 and if I’m going to leave my mark on this earth I better start making up for lost time.
I have two (rather large) dreams. First and foremost is to become a professional wrestler. I’m 34 so if I’m going to move on making this dream a reality I gotta get going ASAP, I’m not getting any younger and the longer I wait the harder it’s going to be.
The other dream I have is to make a movie. Wrestling and movies have been passions of mine for the majority of my life and both mean a lot to me in different ways. The way I’m choosing to see things is it would be way easier to try wrestling first and try making a movie later than the other way around.
I’ve been looking into getting pro wrestling training and have applied to one school so far. I’m trying to stay relatively local but I very well may need to relocate to a different state in order to make this happen. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish this dream and it’s going to require a lot a tough choices and a hell of a lot of sacrifice. Frankly, it’s time to see what I’m made of.
That’s some of the backstory for this blog entry, try to keep up because I’m throwing a lot into this one, starting with how I did with predictions for last nights show. Lets take a look.

The Best Friends, Rocky Romero, and Danhausen vs The Factory
I don’t know about you but I love me some Danhausen, he’s just an awesome character and I liked the new “evil” side of the persona we saw last night.
Prediction: The Best Friends, Rocky Romero, and Danhausen
Winner: The Best Friends, Rocky Romero, and Danhausen
Score: 1 – 0
AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament Semifinal
Brian Cage vs Ricky Starks
I missed the majority of this match as I was busy posting my predictions but I really thought Cage was going to win this…color me surprised.
Prediction: Brian Cage
Winner: Ricky Starks
Score: 1 – 1
Eddie Kingston vs Jun Akiyama
Holy shit those machine gun chops looked brutal, this match obviously meant a lot to Eddie as he got rather emotional after the match. Hilarity ensued as he began hyping the main show for the announcers…”it’s now 6:54 and 30 seconds, if you haven’t ordered the show what the fuck are you waiting for?”
Prediction: Eddie Kingston
Winner: Eddie Kingston
Score: 2 – 1

Jungle Boy got color and got brutalized for the majority of the match. He ended up jumping off the top of the cage (I figured he would) and won the match, making for an emotional ending to a good feud.
Prediction: Jungle Boy
Winner: Jungle Boy
Score: 3 – 1

I’m highly looking forward to the best of seven series between these two teams. Awesome match, which is what I predicted.
Prediction: The Elite
Winner: The Death Triangle
Score: 3 – 2

Jade Cargill busting out the Cheetara ring gear (adding orange to her color scheme at least of one night, much like Just Original Entertainment did for the Full Gear Predictions graphics (I felt like that was worth pointing out)), increasing her winning streak, and getting her TBS Championship back.
Prediction: Jade Cargill
Winner: Jade Cargill
Score: 4 – 2

In my opinion this was match of the night, much love for the main event and Trios title match, but this one was absolutely wonderful to watch.
Prediction: Chris Jericho
Winner: Chris Jericho
Score: 5 – 2

Glad Saraya got the win in her return match, I really thought they were gonna go the other way with it. I’m always a little nervous when someone makes their return after a long absence due to a career threatening injury, ecstatic everything worked out well.
Prediction: Dr. Britt Baker
Winner: Saraya
Score: 5 – 3

Good ol’ Joey Two Belts walking away with the “W” and I’m not even mad about it.
Prediction: Samoa Joe
Winner: Samoa Joe
Score: 6 – 3

Brothers in Paint picking up another win makes sense even if I would’ve liked to see Jarrett win his first AEW match.
Prediction: Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal
Winner: Sting & Darby Allin
Score: 6 – 4

Happy to see Hayter getting a run with the belt and highly intrigued to see what it means for the women’s division over the next couple of weeks/months.
Prediction: Jamie Hayter
Winner: Jamie Hayter
Score: 7 – 4

HELL YEAH! SCISSOR ME BRO!
Prediction: The Acclaimed
Winner: The Acclaimed
Score: 8 – 4

Super stoked MJF won the title here. I’m not gonna lie, this was the last little push I needed to go 100% in on this professional wrestling pursuit.
Prediction: MJF
Winner: MJF
Score: 9 – 4
Not too shabby of a score especially compared to the 50/50 score I got for WWE Crown Jewel last month.
Additionally tonight is the series finale of The Walking Dead, a show that I’ve been a fan of since it premiered in October 2010. It’s going to be super weird not tuning in on Sundays for my zombie fix but there is a deeper meaning to the end of this beloved show for me and it’s not difficult to explain.
As I stated earlier it feels like I’m waking up from a 16 year nap, like I’ve just been on autopilot since I graduated high school, almost like I was literally The Walking Dead or a real life zombie. One could say that I’m shifting into…Full Gear…so to speak. The fact that tonight will be the last time we’ll get a new episode of the main series of the Walking Dead universe just adds to the new theme or direction or motivation or epiphany or whatever you wanna call it makes me feel like the universe is telling me I’m heading in the right direction. And that is a great feeling.
Additionally while we’re on the subject of zombies I watched the movie Black Friday today to see if it’s worthy of being added to the Top Ten Thanksgiving Movie list, I’m not going to spoil anything but keep a look out for that list later this week. Stay tuned for more of The Daily Joe because I have a really good feeling that I’m going to be doing a hell of a lot more writing for the foreseeable future. Joe out.
